![]() If you are willing to rock the Grids while waiting, it sounds like you want the Volks for the badge. To the other question, do not buy the Grids to save for the TE37s. Make the decision for what suits your needs, not what others think of your decision. (granted we have some REALLY nice roads in Vegas). I have thousands of miles on my grids with not a scrape, bend or any flakeing or peeling. When you make your decision, you should do the same. I am happy with it and love the way it looks. But after the wife curbing an LM and spending an insane amount having it fixed and worrying about the HREs, I figured screw it. I came from the BMW world where I dropped $4500 on REAL BBS LMs on one BMW and over $5K on a set of HREs for another BMW. So many people say don't go cheap, they will bend and you are a poser or whatever. ![]() If you do not mind the haters, get the knock offs. I was simply pointing out differences between the two and if he wants a more solidly constructed wheel, forged is the way to go.If you do not mind the haters, get the knock offs. There was no scientific researched evidence or reason for me to go with the Works, I was simply stating that I had more peace of mind by going with the Works and I believe (opinion) that it is worth spending extra money on equipment that is NOT questionable.Īs far as the differences between cast and forged.yeah, not a huge factor when daily driving, but the OP seems to be concerned with wheel quality/construction. I was simply stating my reasoning for going with the Work wheels. I understand that there are more Rota's being used out there - hence more instances of issues reported (vs. I said "I don't have scientific fact to back it up, but from what I have read on here and other sources online the Works seem to have a better track record (no pun intended) when it came to construction quality". Card numbers are stored under heavy encryption on bank-grade servers, with backups in multiple cities. I didn't say they were low strength or poor quality. ROTA WHEELS Australia uses a payment gateway named EWAY. Rotas aren't low strength or poor quality, ricey. (Older Emotion CR-Kai's were forged, newer ones are cast. Unfortunately for me, I discovered this info after I bought my cast Work wheels. Besides being less expensive and easier to make, cast wheels don't really have any performance/quality advantage over forged wheels. One thing I will mention though, if you are concerned with getting a set of decent quailty wheels that are strong and are less likely to break/bend/crack, I would try to find a set of FORGED wheels, rather than CAST.įorged wheels are stronger, and often times just as lightweight as cast wheels. I don't have scientific fact to back it up, but from what I have read on here and other sources online the Works seem to have a better track record (no pun intended) when it came to construction quality. The Works were only about $300 bucks more for the set, vs. I was in between a set of used Rota's and a set of super nice used Work Emotion CR-Kai's. These are my new rota Grid 5×114s ready for be wrapped in some Yokohamas or uniroyal tyres Make sure to check out our Facebook page and Group RustNNuts. But I didn't want a low strength/quality wheel. Rota's are so affordable and have a great selection of different styles. I found myself asking the same questions when I was searching for a new set of wheels this winter. I see that a bunch of ppl have Rota wheels and im asking are they any good i hear good and bad alot the time about Rota well are they worth the money? do they break easy? do they crack? ![]()
